....
A groomers 5 minute lunch.
That is when a groomers actually gets 5 minutes to take a lunch break.
Oh....wait a minute.....
I forgot to clean up the hair before I got ready to eat.
Now I only have 4 minutes to eat..............

About Me:
I am a professional Pet Groomer. I have been grooming for 28 years. This Blog is a kind of diary of my work. I wish I had started years ago, writing some of the experiences I have had while grooming. Most days are fun, some can be sad, some can be just down right crazy. If you are a pet owner and come across this blog, I hope it helps you understand how your pet is groomed. If you are a Pet Groomer, I hope you can relate to some of the stories. Maybe even learn a grooming tip or can leave a friendly grooming tip for me. There is always something to learn, no matter how long you have been grooming.
Groomer comedy gold. :)

ReplyDeleteHi big dog mom,
DeleteI am glad that I could make you smile. :)
Hang in there. I hate going through those burnouts. I wish that I had some secret remedy to help you through it. Hopefully the burnout will pass soon.

I just want to say how much I love reading your blog! I was about to give up on grooming then I came across your blog and ever since I have started to love grooming again! I was wondering if you could do a post on the brands/Types of shampoo you use because I tried best shot and I LOVE IT! (I have a border collie. Anyway I work at petsomething for five years now but only grooming for two. were not allowed in the *Bite Zone* so I have to be careful when others are watching but all my dogs now hugged before the bath and after the groom and I tell the dogs now what Im about to do and they really do seem to do better! I know this sounds weird but I was wondering if I can have your email because I have a story to tell you to see if it has happened to anyone you have known.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the long comment.
Hi Murdock,
DeleteI am glad that you didn't give up on grooming. I think that groomer just need to know that they are not alone out there, and that there are other groomers that are going through the same things that they are going through.
I am glad that you liked the Best Shot. I'll have to do a post about the shampoos I use. :)
I am glad that you tried out the hugging and talking to the dogs, and it worked for you. I truly believe that it really helps.
I look forward to reading your story. My e-mail is:

Happy belated Easter Lisa!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shelly!
DeleteI hope that you had a great Easter too.
Thank you so much for your blog... I look forward to reading it after such a stressful day of grooming. I recently went through a burnout phase, but just one day realized that I am an excellent groomer and I do the best I can on every dog and if owners still aren't satisfied, then I don't need to let them rent space in my head with negativity as a form of payment! I am proud if my work. Keep writing and thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteI am glad that you came through your burnout. You are so right! We groomers need to give ourselves pep talks and not let those negative customers 'rent space in our heads'....love that! Couldn't have said it better. :)

Hi remember we are there for the pets who don't ask to be neglected or be owned by people who don't know any better! So on a good day we teach those who will listen. I am new to your blog :) loving it xxx
