About Me:

I am a professional Pet Groomer. I have been grooming for 28 years. This Blog is a kind of diary of my work. I wish I had started years ago, writing some of the experiences I have had while grooming. Most days are fun, some can be sad, some can be just down right crazy. If you are a pet owner and come across this blog, I hope it helps you understand how your pet is groomed. If you are a Pet Groomer, I hope you can relate to some of the stories. Maybe even learn a grooming tip or can leave a friendly grooming tip for me. There is always something to learn, no matter how long you have been grooming.

Internet Blues

Having trouble again.
Verizon is driving me crazy.
It seems to be all about getting the right person on the phone.

The internet connection drops out at any time, so I'll post something very quickly tonight.

This big guy was in last week.

The owner found out that her husband is allergic to the dog, so she wanted me to get rid of all the long feathering.

Of course I didn't think he was long at all, but his owner wanted me to get rid of all of the long fly-away hair around the neck, spine line, ears, legs, and rear.

So I used the Green (C) Stainless Steel Clip Comb for the Wahl 5 in 1 blade.    ( 7/8 cut)

I tried the longest comb first, but it didn't take enough off.

I always start with the longest clip comb or blade first when I am not sure how much hair I want to take off.

I ended up using the second clip comb that I tried.

I scissored up the ears and front legs nice and tight.

I also scissored a little less than half off of the tail.

The owner was very happy with it, but I would not be surprised if she wants him even shorter come summer time.

Good... I finished before my internet crashed.
Hopefully the phone line will be back to normal tomorrow.  :)

Happy Grooming, MFF

  2. Thanks Lydia! I have to say that he did turn out better than I thought that he would. I hope they keep this cut and don't go shorter. :)
